SSPA WebStar awards are given to IT companies that have demonstrated the ability to deliver superior web-based services to customers. This year, five companies received awards from the SSPA’s advisory board who judged and selected the winners from a host of applicants. The awards were presented to the winners over dinner during the SSPA Conference @ San Diego.


Patrick Saeger, VP of customer support for Mecury Interactive accepts the company’s WebStar Award from Bill Rose.


Ed Shepherdson, VP of global customer support, Cognos and the lead for the new SSPA committee on Offshore Outsourcing Optimization is all smiles over his WebStar Award.


Lisa Lorenzen, product manager from ADP, graciously accepts the company’s award.


Aspen Technology’s Kathy Slattengren, Sr. Advisor; Jacas Desmond, director support technology; and Lee Riley, vice president of global support and training strike a pose with their award.


Renee La Londe, director of e-service, and team at Network Appliance accepted their award in front of a backdrop of the San Diego skyline.


Power Panel: SSPA CEO, JB Wood moderated a panel of experts for this panel titled “Understanding Offshore Outsourcing Pros and Cons.” The panel of experts included Trend Micro’s Mitchel Chang, eTelecare’s Jim Franke, Hughes BPO Services’ Deepak Malik, palmOne’s Dan Gilbert, and NCR Teradata’s Monica Soderland.


Attendees sometimes shared more than information; in this case, they shared cookies between sessions.


Members engaged and got to know each other well during our new Best Practice Sharing Sessions. Best practices developed during these popular sessions will be posted on the SSPA website soon with discussion forums to follow.
